On the occasion of Alexa’s eighth birthday, fourth in France, Amazon took the opportunity to review a large part of its range with the new 5th generation Echo Dot, a new Kindle e-reader, the Scribe, as well as several new features related to Connected TV and the Fire TV family.
A series of new products announced on Amazon
At its annual “Devices & Services” innovation conference, the world market leader in e-commerce presented a whole range of new products that are intended to improve our everyday lives.
We find them at the top of the bill new Echo Dot Gen 5 (with or without clock), with a completely redesigned audio system to offer a quality worthy of the best connected speakers on the market.
Another very prominent product on Amazon, the line of Kindle e-readers sees the arrival of a little news, the Kindle Scribe. Equipped with a pen, you can take notes, draw diagrams, etc.
In the “Cameras” category, a number of accessories appear alongside the “Blink” surveillance device, including a small foot to make the Mini Blink swivel, plus the “Flash a wired floodlight camera“, a security device with LED lighting of 2600 lumens that provides real-time images in Full HD (1080p).
In the world of cameras, too, two new “rings” are on the agenda, the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro and the Ring Spotlight Cam Plusthey will use a new motion detection technology called Bird’s Eye View to light up when they’re present.
After all, our little darling in the category remains the Robot Astro. This little robot can walk around the rooms to feign presence and fend off intruders or bring you an item from one room to another, and it is able to recognize household members with its facial recognition to interact with them. .
Soon it will also be able to recognize most pets, allowing owners to monitor their pets during their daily work.

The Cube Fire TV gets a makeover
In addition to all the devices mentioned above, two others first caught our eye the new 3rd generation Cube Fire TV. The Cube is the most successful version of the famous Fire TV stick. More powerful, therefore more fluid and faster, it has the particularity of integrating Alexa and being usable entirely by voice. Even better, it syncs with your devices (TVs, soundbar, game consoles) and with a simple “Alexa, turn on the TV” all devices will turn on at the same time. And that, we love it!
But so far it has suffered from a small lag compared to the Fire TV Stick 4K MAX, namely the lack of Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. With the new 3rd gen Fire TV Cube, it’s done and takes it even further. It’s even compatible with the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard for higher-quality, super-fast Wi-Fi
Finally we end with the youngest of the band who just arrived, dem new Alexa Pro voice remote control. While retaining its iconic look, it includes a wealth of new features:
- Voice recognition to control all Alexa devices
- “Remote control location” function (when it falls under the sofa)
- key illumination
- Customize buttons and shortcuts
The latter supplements the Fire TV equipment and is already available at a price of 39.99 dollars.
