The Kastov 762 assault rifle in Warzone 2.0 is a key weapon for many, not only for its performance, but also because it is necessary to unlock other weapons in the AK platform.
In Warzone 2.0, this is commonly referred to in previous titles as the AK-47.
Much like its real-world counterpart, the Kastov 762 is a weapon that requires some practice to properly manage its recoil, making it difficult to deliver precise attacks on long-range targets.
To circumvent the strong points of the weapon while mitigating some of its weaknesses, we have prepared this guide to explain the better Kastov 762 loadinglisting a host of accessories, the perk set and gear you should choose, diving into how to unlock Kastov 762 in Warzone 2.0 too.

How to Unlock Kastov 762 in Warzone 2.0
The Kastov 762 is one of the easiest weapons to unlock in Warzone 2.0, requiring pure investment by simply playing the game.
By playing any mode or completing challenges in Warzone 2.0 you will earn XP – acquire enough and once you reach player level 23, the Kastov 762 is yours to then customize in a loadout.
Once the weapon is unlocked, you will be able to use and upgrade it to unlock additional attachments, camos, and even other weapons such as the Kastov 545 – which can then be used to unlock the Minibak.
Warzone 2.0 Kastov 762 best loadout and attachments
These are the best Warzone 2.0 Kastov 762 loadouts and attachments:
- Barrel: Kastovia 343 (unlocks at Kastov 762 Lv. 343) / Kas-10 584MM Cannon (unlocks at RPK Lv. 16)
- Optical: Cronen Mini Red dot (unlocks at FSS Hurricane Lv. 2) / Hybrid Firepoint (unlocks at Lachmann-762 Lv. 14)
- Store: KSTV-RPK Factory (unlocks at Kastov 762 Lv. 6) / Prolite TL3 Stock (unlocks at RPK Lv.17)
- Rear handle: True- Tac Grip (unlocks at Vaznev-9K Lv. 10)
- Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity (Unlocked at Lachmann-762 Lv. 10)
As mentioned earlier, the Kastov 762 has significant recoil, so it’s worth bearing in mind that it’s not the best option if you’re looking for a longer range assault rifle.
As such, it’s a bit difficult to lean into combat over longer distances, so we’re going with a build that does just the opposite.
Our approach is to stick with relatively short to medium sightlines, while recognizing that the size of the map in Warzone 2.0 may require something a little more flexible for range.
To give this weapon a strong mobility in combat, we opt for the Kastovia 343 barrel – while reducing damage range, it increases its down-sight (ADS) speed, allowing you to open fire more accurately at a faster rate.
Alternatively, for a bit more flexibility, you can instead opt for the Canon KAS-10 584MM which will increase damage range, give the gun better control of recoil and bullet speed while also increasing its hip fire accuracy for those close quarters engagements – however this option reduces ADS speed unlike at Kastovia 343 and will take a bit of time to acquire, so choose based on preference.
For optics, we stick to the old faithful Cronen Mini Red DotAlthough the Hybrid fire point could be a good alternative since you can switch between a standard reflex sight and a magnified longer range zoom.
For the stock, we go for the KSTV-RPK Factorygood if you are looking to improve the aiming stability of the weapon, but you can choose the Prolite TL3 instead if you want to give yourself more ADS speed – a good way to compensate for the negatives of the KAS-10 584MM gun.
For the rear grip we will recommend the True-Tac handle
To help your shots reach enemies faster, our final accessory will be the weapon’s ammo – the 7.62 High speed ammo will increase the Kastov’s accuracy stat, while also increasing its bullet speed.

Warzone 2.0 Kastov 762 best class build, perk set and gear
Our picks for best build, perk set, and best class Warzone 2.0 Kastov 762 gear are:
- Benefits Package: Vanguard (unlocked at level 1)
- Secondary: Basilisk (unlocked at level 39)
- Tactical: Flash Grenade (unlocked at level 1)
- Deadly: Frag Grenade (unlocked at level 1)
As with the Modern Warfare 2 variant, we’re largely leaning towards a more mobile and gear-stocked style of play through the perks provided in the Vanguard Perks Package.
So what advantages are there in the Avant-garde benefit package?
The first is Double timeReturning from the MW2 recommendation and still a solid perk to pick, granting doubled duration for Tactical Sprint and increasing movement speed by roughly a third.
Second in the list is Mine Squad, a demolition resistance-based perk that will reduce the damage you take from player-initiated explosives. You can also reset the fuse timer on live grenades, giving you a chance to counterattack with explosive pain.
For the third benefit, Replenishment rest of the OG class setup – this will allow you to stock up on an additional lethal grenade and reload your lethal and tactical grenades, each with a 30 second cooldown.
Finally, the fourth advantage of the Vanguard package is High alertdoing exactly what it says on the box – when an enemy spots you, you’ll be notified on-screen with an indicator that reveals the direction an enemy is looking at you from.
Since the Kastov is likely to run out of ammo – not just from its recoil, but also the lack of the Scavenger perk – you’ll need a solid sidearm to back you up.
As such, we’re directing you to the X12 handgun, a pistol with the highest rate of fire of any semi-automatic handgun currently available, ready with a 17-round magazine, providing effective backup in the heat of the moment, if you need it to recharge.
When it comes to lethal and tactical options, we’re sticking to the basics – a Frag and Flash Grenade combo should serve you well here, and it’s a tradition that will likely never die out.
