Pokemon scarlet and violet Players who pre-ordered the game can redeem a flying Tera-type Pikachu wearing a small hat with crystal balloons. It’s very cute and knows the move Fly, a flying-type move that Pikachu can’t normally use.
In order to get this particular Pikachu, you must meet two requirements in addition to pre-ordering scarlet and violet: You must be able to connect to the internet and you must have unlocked the Pokemon Center Poké Portal – this should be available between an hour and 90 minutes after the start of the game.
Press X to bring up the menu. Choose Poke Portalthen select Mysterious Gift from there. (This is the last option in the menu.) You then select the “Get via Internet” button and from there you can select “Flying Tera Type Pikachu Gift” on the next screen. Press A to select it. A level 5 balloon-decorated Pikachu will be sent to your crates. If you see it in game regularly, it will be a regular Pikachu. But when it terastallizes, you’ll see the balloons.
Pikachu is available as a Mystery Gift until February 28, 2023.
Pikachu is currently the only Mystery Gift, but more are likely to come. As for special events, The Pokémon Company hosts a Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle with Charizard, from 1st to 4th December and 15th to 18th December, but you have to earn them in a raid – they are not free Mystery Gifts. And raids are the only way to catch Charizard.
