A newly released video celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the series features concept art for the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake.

Ubisoft is currently working on a remake of the stealth classic Splinter Cell, which aims to keep the spirit of the original while adapting the game for a modern audience.

To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the series, the first Splinter Cell released on November 18, 2002, a video was released (as we previously reported) in which the developers pay homage to Sam Fisher’s revolutionary first adventure. On top of that, the remake will also be themed, showing some early concept art that you can check out in the gallery that some of you may have missed in the first update from us:

Creative Director Chris Auty and Associate Level Design Director Zavian Porter comment on the current status of development as follows:

“We are still very early in production. We are still in the prototype phase. We don’t want to rush anything. We want to make sure that we’re getting the game to the point, that we’re doing everything right, and that we’re creating an absolutely top-notch experience. And we’re going to take a backseat for a while so we can focus on making the absolute best game possible.”

“We want to create a top-notch remake and increase the quality as much as possible. That should help us lay a good foundation for the future of the series.”
