Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell fans had to wait a long time before at least a remake of the original game was officially announced this year. In order to shorten the waiting time, you can surprisingly look forward to an 8-part series in a timely manner.
Before Sam Fisher takes off in Splinter Cell Remake on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, you’ll be able to experience the beloved character of the stealth action series in a different form. With “Splinter Cell: Firewall” an 8-part series has now been presented, which will take off in just a few days.
Not only is it not a video game, it’s not a TV series either. Rather, “Firewall” is an audio drama that will be available to listen to on BBC Radio 4 as early as December 2, 2022. The whole thing is spoken by actor Anthony Adonis, known from “The Archers”.
The predominantly British cast also features a few other big names from the radio world, including Daisy Head, who voices Sam Fisher’s daughter, Sarah Fisher. Hollywood star Will Poulter (“The Millers”, “The Maze Runner”, “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch”) is also said to have an unspecified role in the radio series.
He even commented in a statement on the Splinter Cell audio series and said: “I really hope that the Splinter Cell fans enjoy this, because it not only offers the action and excitement that the game is known for , but also more elements. There’s a lot of comedy, there’s more drama, and the horizons are broadened in terms of the characters and their goals.”
In the series, Sam Fisher is said to be teaming up with his daughter Sarah Fisher; this has now also joined Fourth Echelon. When one of Sam Fisher’s long-dead antagonists resurfaces, the father-daughter combo, with the help of co-workers, must come to the rescue and save the world.
The eight episodes will each last 30 minutes; the recording was in 3D audio. BBC recommends listening with headphones for an immersive experience. From December 2nd, new episodes will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 every Friday at 3:15 p.m. German time. The full audio series will also be available on BBC Sounds on the Limelight Podcast Channel from December 2nd.
