Several leaks have accumulated today, detailing aspects of the design and hardware the new device will use; and overall it looks like it will be up to the task.
The most powerful Xiaomi
The Xiaomi 13 is expected to be based on Qualcomm’s latest processor to date, the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2; It will come with 12 GB of RAM, at least in one of the versions available.
We know this because someone has already tested the device in Geekbench 5, the benchmarking app that tests chip performance. Although the device only appears with a code name, 2211133C, it is only the identifier used by Xiaomi to register the new device with the Chinese bureaucracy. Therefore, it is very likely that it is the Xiaomi 13, and if so, there is good news: it is very powerful.
The new processor seems to be particularly good at multitasking, where exceeded 5,000 points with no problem; For comparison, the Xiaomi 12 scores 1,000 points less in the same tests. From then on, the leap in power seems obvious, which should bring Android phones closer to their great rival, the iPhone.
Speaking of iPhone, the design of the Xiaomi 13 seems to be inspired by Apple’s mobile, with flat edges which have been confirmed in the latest mobile design leak. The good thing is that this seems to be the only similar detail, since the rest of the mobile is somewhat different; For example, the variety of colors in which it will be available is striking, although the set of cameras is always white regardless of the color of the back, highlighting it and giving it an original look.
Perhaps more important is that it will be possible to buy a version of the Xiaomi 13 with ceramic back instead of glass, thus making the leap to a new high-end material that other manufacturers like Google may also use in the future. As for the front, the Xiaomi 13 should use a flat screen, but the Pro model uses a curved one.
