Long announced, the Next Gen Update for The Witcher 3 was presented in detail a few days ago. We can also expect numerous graphic improvements and new content for the PC version, such as Armor from the Netflix series The Witcher. Also included is one of the most controversial outfits from Season 1, but don’t worry about that.

The Witcher 3: This is what the next-gen upgrade looks like!
It is the Nilfgard armor from the Netflix series, which can also be seen in the picture at the beginning of the article. In contrast to the magnificent armor of the Empire in the game, a simpler design was chosen for the series, which was not well received by many fans.
Showrunner Lauren Hissrich explained pointed out that the plain armor showed the status of the Nilfgarde army, which was made up of conscripts rather than well-trained fighters and knights. However, as the series progressed, their armor would continue to evolve, and in fact, Season 2 presented a significantly different design:
In Season 2, the armor of the Nilfgardians has changed significantly.
Why is the armor in the next gen update?
So that this armor in particular is part of Witcher 3 is a surprising development. We therefore asked developer CD Projekt Red what prompted them to make this decision. In their response, they tell us that it is an iconic armor for the Netflix series, which of course is only optional content. Players are given the choice of whether they want to use the design and replace the previous Nilfgard armor or not.
You can easily enable or disable the Nilfgard armor in this menu, as well as the alternate skins for Yennefer, Triss, and Ciri.
Do you want to turn the alternate armor on or off, you can easily do this from the main menu of the game. To do this, select »Options« and then the »Game« section. With the next gen update, the option for the alternative Nilfgard armor will probably appear quite far down. Similar setting options are already available for alternative outfits for Yennefer, Triss and Ciri.
