With MacOS Catalina other new apps come to our Mac: Music and TV. If we share our computer with household children, or they have one, it is worth deciding on the type content has access. Luckily Apple has made it very easy to manage the permissions of both apps, and we're going to do so.
How to set limits in the Music app
Setting age restrictions on a music app is very easy. The steps are as follows:
- We open the app Music.
- On the menu Music we choose Favorites.
- We add a tab Restrictions.
- We affirm that Qualifications for: is selected Spain or the country we are in.
- In the section Restrict it works Music with explicit content, Movies at [years] and TV Shows [years].
- We rank the last two years.
- We touch the padlock and use the Touch ID or enter a computer password to prevent future changes.
Before closing the lock, we can also close the iTunes store to avoid unwanted purchases.
How to set limits on a TV app
The configuration in the TV app is very similar, in fact some settings are shared between both apps. The steps we will follow are the following:
- We open the app TV.
- On the menu TV we choose Favorites.
- We add a tab Restrictions.
- We affirm that Qualifications for: is selected Spain or the country we are in.
- In the section Restrict it works Movies at [years] and TV Shows [years].
- We rank the last two years.
- We touch the padlock and use the Touch ID or enter a computer password to prevent future changes.
As in music before closing the lock we can choose to perform and disable Purchase or subscription content.
In both of these frameworks, once we have set the parameters for the applications, the content outside our settings will disappear completely, as though they did not exist. It is important to remember that other settings are shared between these two apps, so one-on-one grooming will be shown in both.
And it's easy. Whether it's a shared computer, or a daughter or son's personal computer, how will we know block entry in content other than his age.
