The visible head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, talked about something that is flying around as an ongoing rumor about Xbox Game Pass users. And this is how the subscription affects the purchase of games present in Game Pass. Spencer finally spoke out on this bitter topic by assuring that consumer habits around the subscription service won’t drastically affect how Xbox sells games.. Speak with prestigious media The edge Earlier this month, Spencer said Xbox won’t stop selling the games it offers through Game Pass.
In his statement, Spencer argues that the subscription service is an “interesting” business model for certain games and helps diversify players’ gaming options. Gamers who buy and own games continue to be a vital part of the company’s business.
“We don’t have this view that everyone is paying us $15 a month,” Spencer said. “We believe that subscription is an attractive business model for certain types of games and for certain customers. I really see it as a way to diversify how people build their library of games or how creators reach the customers they want to reach with the content they create.. It will always be part of the business, in my opinion. I think the people who buy and own their games will be an important part of the business for years to come.”
After these statements, he said giving players the ability to decide how they play and what they play is very important to Xbox.
“That’s why you don’t see us making subscription-exclusive games or trying to dissuade people from buying games,” he says. “We love it when people buy their games. It’s fantastic. We also love it when people subscribe. What we’re really looking at is if we can get more people to play more games and make the easier task for all players who want to play.”
Of all this, one of the latest additions to the service is particularly representative: vampire survivors. An 8-bit style pixel game, and with a very high entertainment capacity. But what, if it hadn’t had the visibility that Game Pass grants, would have had this huge success and impact?
