Access and basic options of our Movistar router
The first thing to know to be able to access our router is its IP address, which is usually 192.168.1.1. To verify this, just go to the router and check if a label on its underside indicates this IP address. Next to it we will have an access password that we must also write down.
You can use your iPhone or Mac to enter the configuration of the Movistar router through any of its browsers: just type the IP address we mentioned in the address bar. The page to load will look like this:

The options may change depending on the model of router that Movistar has installed in your home, but we can highlight some important parameters:
- If, for example, you are using other devices such as a mesh node network to create another more optimized Wi-Fi network in your home, the most appropriate thing is that disable the Wi-Fi network of the Movistar router so that there is no interference. You can do this by going to the “Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Plus” sections.
- If, on the other hand, you use the Wi-Fi network of the Movistar router, from these same sections you can modify the name and password as you wish.
- You can also change the password to access the router so that it is the one you will remember best. You have the setting in the “Change Router Password” option in the top menu.
- If you’re using an app or service that requires ports to be opened or closed, you can do so in the “Ports” section of the top menu.

If at any time you mess up changing the router settings, keep in mind that you have the physical reset button (Reset) on the device. If you press it for a few seconds, you can reset the router to factory settings and start over.
