summer game festival Returning for the fourth year, there will be a live kick-off show on Thursday 8 June 2023.
The show’s world premiere, live game demos and announcements will take place for the first time in front of a live audience at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA.
The show will be streamed live on all major streaming platforms, including YouTube and Twitch. Tickets for Summer Game Fest 2023 will go on sale in early 2023.
“Over the past three years, Summer Game Fest has cultivated an incredible community around the world through our digital-first events, and we’re excited to invite thousands of fans to experience SGF programming in person for the first time in 2023,” Curator Presenter and presenter Geoff Keighley said.
“Traditionally, we’ll receive plenty of exciting announcements from developers who move the games industry forward, and will again be highlighting additional publisher digital events, demos and more surprises in the coming months.”
The full lineup of Summer Game Fest 2023 contestants and events will be announced in the new year.
Meanwhile, next week on December 8 at 7.30pm ET / 12.30am UK, tune in to The Game Awards on a variety of platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok Live and Instagram Live.
Last year, the ceremony took place on December 9th and saw It Takes Two win Game of the Year and two other awards. Among the nominees, “Infinite Loop,” “Ratchet and Clank: Spinning,” “Both Were Wounded” and “Psycho 2” lead the way.
This year, Ragnarok, Elden’s Ring, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Horizon Forbidden West, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Outcast competed for Game of the Year. The most nominations went to “Ragnarok” with 10 total nominations, followed by “Elden Ring” and “Horizon Forbidden West” with 7 each.
