Yesterday Apple released the fourth beta of iOS 16.2 and the rest of the operating systems. A beta version that brings almost no changes, except for a small detail in the management of notifications. A change, which facilitates access to the oldest so that they are not forgotten and escape our attention.
A change that adds to several that have already taken place during this beta cycle and that shows us how Apple finish tweaking the redesigned notification system
A small change so as not to miss anything
In early versions of iOS 16, actually up to the fourth beta of iOS 16.2, we weren’t automatically seeing old notifications. A change from iOS 15, which showed them to us. Now, to see old notifications, we had to swipe up from the center of the screen to see them.
While hiding old notifications out of sight might be a good idea, it’s also true that could favor that we neglect some of them
Keeping this in mind, in the latest older iOS 16.2 beta notifications are no longer hidden
Being a beta version, the system may evolve and change without notice. In any case, what this small change shows us is that Apple continues to work to refine the experience from the lock screen, notifications and the center where they meet.
Beyond the fact that it is important, perhaps through focus modes or through notification summaries, that we can reduce the number of notifications we receive daily so that we can focus on the most important ones, have them all close at hand the view is interesting. We’ll see what happens in future betas..
