If you’ve always been looking for Valve’s portable PC console, the steam deck, but without the spare cash, Valve will be giving away a bunch of it for free during next week’s annual broadcast of The Game Awards. All you have to do is watch The Game Awards via Valve’s streaming site. Oh yeah: Remember when Valve started a streaming site?
Yes, the annual montage of trailers and ads disguised as a gaming show in a desperate attempt to hide their true nature is back. The “Awards Show” will air on December 8th to give away some prizes as quickly as possible among dozens of trailers, ads and commercials for DLC and expansion cards. But if you decide to watch the whole thing this year – which can often take nearly three hours to complete – you might at least win a Steam Deck for your troubles.
As announced on November 30th, Valve is celebrating the Game Awards with a huge Steam Deck Sweepstakes. The company will give away a free handheld PC to a single person every minute throughout The Game Awards. (Never in history has anyone wanted The Game Awards to run long, until now…) To stand a chance you must first register for the drawing, which you can do now, and then watch The game prices
What is that you ask? It’s a half-baked Steam version of Twitch that the company basically abandoned not long after launch. But like so many Valve products, it lingers like a zombie.
G/O Media may receive a commission
As with any giveaway or contest of this nature: It has some additional rules and restrictions Please note that it is only accessible to persons in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom or the EU. Well I think you’ll be less of a winner if you have to get through The Game Awards.
