Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, which was only released in October, is far from over at the end of 2022, because there should also be a whole series of new content in the new year. The makers have now announced corresponding plans.
The 4v1 ghost hunt continues in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed in 2023! As the men from IllFonic have now confirmed, there will always be fresh game content throughout the new year.
At launch, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed had five different maps. At the beginning of 2023, IllFonic wants to add another location with “The Facility”. The facility closed in the late 80’s and has now been acquired by private investors to renovate and reopen. Unfortunately, the place is haunted by ghosts and the builders refuse to enter the cursed health center.
Design Director Jordan Mathewson explains what makes this map unique: “The place shows its age, which gives the map a unique atmosphere. The builders are civilians and during the renovations they discovered why the facility had to be closed at the time. Winding hallways and medium-sized rooms are combined in a way that gives the gameplay a more intimate, oppressive character. For both the Ghostbusters and the ghost, the design opens up new possibilities for play. We will announce more about that shortly.”
You’ll also be able to hatch into the ectoplasm of a new spirit: Muncher. The cheeky fan favorite has been the most requested so far and will soon be haunting the game. The first DLC also brings a number of customization options for the player characters. More details will be announced closer to the release of the DLC.
Further additional content is planned for each quarter over the further course of the year. There should also be quality-of-life patches.
