WhatsApp made its own avatars official today, which follow in the footsteps of Memoji and seek to offer a three-dimensional representation of our own appearance. They are also equivalent to Meta avatars, which have already garnered their controversy for not being what Mark Zuckerberg originally showed in his presentation of the Metaverse.
Meta seeks to unify the design of its avatars for all its applications (Instagram, Facebook, the future Metaverse and WhatsApp), and this is one more step to achieve this. And be careful, because with them we can create our own stickers and several options where to enjoy it.
A personal identity in the form of avatars
After generating our avatar by selecting traits that allow us to “billions” of combinationswe will generate an album of 36 stickers presets that we can send in WhatsApp chats. Its makers also claim that the avatars will receive regular updates, so that they don’t remain pigeonholed into the same expressions over the years.
WhatsApp avatars are already spreading to all messaging clients on iOS, so if you’re lucky, you may already have them on your iPhone. If you have the beta, chances are these new emojis have already been activated for you.
