We’ve known for the past six months that FromSoftware’s latest game is in the final stages of development – and now we finally know what it is: Armored Core 6: Rubicon Fire.
The game was announced at The Game Awards 2022, with a trailer announcing that the game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The last game in the series came out in 2012 – so we haven’t seen the series in action for a full 10 years.

A survey of the game stated that the armored core game “is a [third-person shooter] mecha action title that lets you move around an absolutely scaled map that represents a unique sci-fi world with dynamic mecha action”. Use your guns and blades to face powerful enemies and engage in intense combat from a distance and up close. “So, for the Armored Core class.
Studio boss Hidetaka Miyazaki mentioned a new Armored Core in 2016, noting that it would be a reboot of the series:
“It’s been a while since Armored Core: Judgment Day, and there have been difficulties with the interim series, but I’m not going to end the Armored Core series,” he said. “I think the core armor concept still has enough traction to be reborn as a fun and worthwhile game, and there are a lot of good people in the company who want to make it.
