Bandai Namco presents a brand new open world, anime MMORPG called blue agreementDeveloped in cooperation with amazon games.
Scheduled for release in 2023, Blue Protocol is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and was showcased at The Game Awards this week. This marks the game’s first Western release, and it seems to herald the drama that all JRPGs will experience.
According to a press release, Blue Protocol will take players “on a heroic journey across Regnus, a world that is on the brink of destruction after thousands of years of conflict and technological misuse.” You know ,usually. “Players must band together to defeat powerful foes by harnessing a mystical light called Flux.”
You can apparently fully customize your character, with five classes to choose from at launch, including “sturdy Blade Warden, brave Twin Striker, versatile Keen Strider, multifaceted Spell Weaver,” and damage-dealing Foe Breaker.” In addition to this, you can summon echoes, mysterious creatures with powerful attacks, whose memories you will need to unlock as you fight to save the world.
Being an MMO, there are of course raids and dungeons to engage in, allowing you to play with up to 30 players in some cases. While also playable solo, you can also summon multiple Echoes to help you on your journey.
“Blue Protocol is a beautifully crafted game; it’s like an anime that comes to life,” Amazon’s vice president of games Christoph Hartmann said in a statement. “Bandai Namco Online has created a world of the highest quality with a compelling story that will build community and immerse players in an action-packed adventure.”
Blue Protocol will also be free to play, so you’ll have no problem trying it out when it launches next year.
