The next gen or new generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Many players will be ready to embark on their first adventure, but… What about the veterans? they can import your games? It is possible, although CD Projekt Red has not made it easy. I use the PS4 and PS5 version to make this guide.
- Install the PS4 and PS5 versions + all the DLCs and add-ons that you had at the time of saving the old games. Otherwise it will not let you access them. Make sure that the PS4 version is updated to 4.0.
- Upon entering the PS4 version and press “Load Game” you will not see the cross-platform synchronization icon (L2) as in the PS5 version. This is where the good stuff starts.

- Go back to the Main Menu and select “My Rewards“. Use your mobile or a computer to access the link that makes the game easier.
- Sign in or create an account on the web. Make sure it’s the same email you use in the game (PSN, Xbox or PC) to avoid problems.
- When you log in, go back to the game and load the game you want to import . Once inside, do a manual save in a new box to convert from version 1.60 to 4.00.
- Go back to the main menu and you should see a cloud icon with a check next to the game you just saved. That means it has been successfully synced.

- Close the PS4 version and start the ps5 version. Do the “My Rewards” step again (and claim the step armor) and then hit load game. The game you just saved should be on the PS4 version. Press L2 to sync cross platform progress if it doesn’t show up the first time.

- And it would be! Trophies/achievements don’t seem to unlock once you start your old game in the new gen version.
If you’re having trouble on the PC and Xbox version, try these steps. The easiest version to fix should be PC. On Xbox the same steps as for PlayStation should work. What an odyssey proposes CD Projekt Red to import old saved data! They have not explained anything.
