We explain two of the main problems when releasing an iPhone.
There is a clear and unmistakable symptom of someone using an iPhone while receiving their messages via chat. No, there is no prompt text detailing your iPhone model or anything like that. We’re talking about Live Photos, and that’s a pretty fun topic if you think about it.
It is known that a user is using a brand new iPhone when you receive a message with a photo and this, instead of being a static image, is actually a very Live Photo Random that does not make any sense.
Las Live Photos, Apple’s GIFs
But let’s start with the basics. Let’s lay the groundwork. What is a Live Photo? It is a kind of GIF that allows iPhone and iPad users to send and receive images filmed 1.5 seconds before and 1.5 seconds after the camera clicks.
This is an especially useful feature if you’re showing something interesting and want to give it some perspective, or even make selfies a bit more fun.
Live Photos are enabled by default in the Camera app and Messages app, so it’s very common to see a new iPhone user send a Live Photo instead of a photo. In fact, this has happened to me with pretty much every iPhone and iPad model I’ve purchased.
So if you suddenly get a Live Photo that doesn’t make much sense… immediately ask if the other person just bought an iPhone (or iPad). And the funny thing is that they usually don’t realize it and, moreover, they don’t really know how to turn them off either.
My iPhone is faulty, no sound!
Another of the “problems” that arise when buying a new iPhone or iPad is the sound. Sometimes, new Apple users report that their iPhone has audio issues on their devices because notifications or calls are not producing sound.
It has a very simple explanation, it usually happens because the side button was pressed accidentally –a kind of switch–, a button used to mute the sound of the device. This is something very common, especially when it’s the first time an iPhone is used. So be very careful with that!
Have any of these “problems” ever happened to you? What other indications have you seen of a brand new iPhone?
