guerrilla game It has been confirmed that it is working on multiple new horizon projects, including cooperative online play.

We first heard about the online aspect of Horizon Forbidden West back in early 2020, before the game even had a subtitle. We haven’t heard much about the project since then, and it’s clear that Forbidden West isn’t launching any online co-op modes. But Guerilla Games itself has now confirmed the existence of an online project in the world of Horizon via a recent tweet from the company’s recruiting account, Life at Guerilla.

“We’re continuing to create an epic single-player adventure for Aloy,” the job listing began. “But there’s more. A new internal team is developing a separate online project in the Horizon universe. Featuring an all-new cast of characters and unique stylized looks, friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together.”

Unsurprisingly, it’s a matter of detail, as this isn’t the most official reveal. News of a new single-player campaign featuring Aloy is apparently embedded, but that’s not a huge surprise. The listing also states that Guerilla is hiring for its “external project team,” but there are no details on what that means other than that it’s looking for an art director and design director specifically for the project.

While we don’t know what kind of personal adventures Aloy might have for Guerilla, whom Aloy mentions in this job listing, we do know what she’s going to do next. Guerilla showed off some of Forbidden West’s story DLC at The Game Awards, called Burning Shores, which is due out in spring 2023. The expansion will take Aloy to the always sunny Los Angeles and pick up where the main game left off. You’ll be able to explore the city by water, or fly in the Sunwing, though PS4 players may be disappointed to hear it’s only PS5.
