Two new Apple MacBook products for next year? This appears to be the case thanks to a Steam data leak…

Steam reveals two mysterious Apple MacBooks

As it does every month, Steam is collecting data from many gamers’ computers around the world to better understand the hardware and software that the public is using. Of course nothing happens without your knowledge, the survey is completely voluntary. Also, it should be noted that the survey is completely anonymous, which is a very good point.

The purpose of these surveys: To help Steam make decisions about investments to make and products to offer.

For example, we can see the market share of Intel and AMD processors among gamers, with a clear dominance of Intel, represented with 66.65% of users. It’s also an opportunity to see graphics card usage preferences by manufacturer, with Nvidia dominating at 75.69%, followed by AMD at 15.15%, Intel at 8.94%, and finally a tiny 0.22% for the rest .

The number of cores per computer, the use of the different versions of Direct X, which VR headset is the most present and the use of the different MAC computers… In short, there’s enough to immerse yourself in for hours.

And some managed to find some crisp information about future Apple MacBooks! In fact, two unknown Apple-branded computers have connected to the Steam Game Store and have not yet been identified in stores: Mac 14.6 and 15.4.

Two new MacBooks announced by Apple next year?

The occurrences of these machines in the data are very small, 0.00% of all Macs logged into Steam, and that makes perfect sense considering they must be test machines that might even still be on the premises from Apple.

One of them, the MacBook 14.6, was already recognized on Geekbench and featured a brand new M2 Max chip with quite interesting performance without being transcendent and having to switch to it as soon as it was released. With any luck, early next year we should be able to officially spot it in a new MacBook Pro.

On the other hand, the presence of a Mac15.4 is really interesting news that would probably confirm the presence of another MacBook in future arrivals at Apple! Quite logically we can assume that it will be a device equipped with an M2 Pro or M2 Max chip and there is a possibility that it will appear in the Cupertino brand’s catalog at the same time as the Mac 14.6.

In short, the next year promises to be really interesting on Apple’s side!
