Game news The Witcher 3 Next Gen PC: CD Projekt finally reacts!
Last week, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt entered the next generation with a next-gen update. An arrival that did not go unnoticed, especially on PC, where there were also many bugs in the game. Luckily, CD Projekt was there and has just released a first patch for the PC version.
Between success and disappointment
Considered one of the best open-world games of its generation, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more than deserves its place in the next generation. Since last week, December 14th to be precise, Next-gen update brings new life to Santa Monica title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and even propels him to the second tier of the Metacritic site podium; God of War: Ragnarök steals the show to push Elden Ring to the top of the leaderboard with a score of 96/100.
With a score like that, fans seem excited to dive (again) into the adventures of the famous witcher, and there’s something for that… Whether it’s ray tracing, a 4K resolution, or even a frame rate of 60 FPS, The rendering of the game has never been so beautiful, but that was without counting on many problems that spoiled the players’ experience on PC. Graphic glitches, premature crashes, FPS drops… Obviously, player dissatisfaction began to rise, forcing CD Projekt’s development teams to take this initial feedback into account.
CD project to the rescue
That’s why the Polish studio announced via the game’s official Twitter account that a patch has just been deployed to PC.
We just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC that should improve overall stability and performance and fix GOG and Steam overlays. The game version does not change.

Without changing the version of the game, This update is primarily intended to “improve the overall stability and performance” of this next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. So technically, it’s supposed to solve the problems of PC gamers. Almost 3 GB on Steam and 1.9 GB on GOG so it’s all just a bad memory.
Finally, CD Projekt also uses this publication on the web to indicate that the developers do not forget about the other platforms, however, promising to work on future improvements as well.
as a reminder The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available thanks to the next-gen update for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, but also for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
