Game of the Year™ is upon us again, returning with its insatiable annual quest to rate and rank the best video games released in the past 365 days. It’s been a year full of both quality and quantity when it comes to Nintendo’s maturing console, and many of us have a significant backlog to get through the upcoming holiday season.
Here at Nintendo Life, we’ve got our own GOTY staff list (which we’re taking a slightly different approach to this year — watch this space), but main event is our dynamic community-ranked Top 50 Switch Games of the Year ranking. We have one for each year of the Switch’s life so far, each ranked by the corresponding user rating of the game in our database.
Looking at how things stand in each of those real-time rankings (which, remember, are subject to change even now as user ratings of games change over time), here are the Best Switch Game winners from the past five years:
But what will be the ultimate this one year? Well, that totally depends on you dear people.
Below you’ll find every Switch game we’ve reviewed this year rated 6/10 or higher.
We recommend that you use the search bar below to find the games you’re looking for, but otherwise you can browse the list. Please note that all Switch games released in 2022 are eligible and available for review in our database — we’ve simply limited the ones shown below to avoid endless pages of shovelware. If there’s something we haven’t reviewed (or just didn’t enjoy as much as you) that you’d like to rate, you can find it by going to the search bar at the very top of the page and going directly to the page game page.
All of your ratings will then be sorted into a fluid, malleable list that will continue to be influenced by user ratings even after it’s published. So if an amazing game launches between Christmas and New Years, it still has a chance to be featured if it gets an impressive enough user score to crack the Top 50.
