In January, Sony will finally release its first own pro controller. At around 240 dollars, the DualSense is not necessarily on the cheap side either. In a new video, various designers now go into how the device was designed and why the cost point should therefore be justified.
From January 26, 2023 you have the chance to purchase the DualSense Edge. The new Sony controller should be as durable as possible thanks to its high adaptability and tons of interchangeable parts and support you as much as possible in the game. In a new, almost six-minute video, various Sony engineers go into the design process of the peripheral device.

Sony states: “The video provides a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the first high-performance and customizable controller for PlayStation, providing insights into the inspiration behind the controller’s form factor and features. It also gives a first look at how the user interface will be implemented PS5 console will allow for deeper controller customization.”
For example, it takes a closer look at how the sticks were designed to be comfortable even during longer sessions, while offering as much control as possible. Of course, the focus is also on the exchangeable stick modules. These set the DualSense Edge apart from the competitor device, the Xbox Elite Controller, and guarantee that you can use Sony’s controller for a very long time. Assuming you don’t fire him into the wall in the next Call of Duty match.
By the way, the Edge has a disadvantage compared to the original DualSense that should not be underestimated: As Sony recently confirmed, the battery life is slightly shorter than that of the original. So you should always have a cable nearby.
