A western release date for Rune Factory 3 Special could soon be on the horizon as the game was recently rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The ESRB gave a farming life simulation rating for teenagers due to themes of fantasy violence, mildly suggestive themes and the use of alcohol. Rune Factory 3 Special has already been given an exact release date in Japan, with the game coming to the land of the rising sun on March 2nd. We’ll let you know when XSEED and Marvelous announce a western release date.

“This is a role-playing game where players take on the role of an amnesiac fighter trying to resolve disputes between humans and monsters. Players explore environments (eg cities, dungeons, forests), interact with characters, complete missions (eg resource gathering, farming) and fight various monsters (eg goblins, mushrooms, giant spiders). Characters use swords, axes and magical attacks to defeat monsters in hand-to-hand combat; battles are highlighted by impact sounds, diminishing health bars/scores, and screen-shaking effects. Some female characters are depicted in swimsuits that reveal moderate amounts of cleavage; the dialogue contains some innuendo (eg, “Ahem! I eyes are worse”; “I wasn’t staring at you”; “No… you’re trying nothing too weird…”). During the game, players can receive and give bottles of wine, causing the recipient/player character to fall asleep after drinking.”
