Sony's PS4 VR glasses
PlayStation VR cannot connect to your PS4? Your position is not recognized correctly when playing? The image is out of focus and cannot be recognized? For these and many other issues with Sony VR glasses, we are here to show you various solutions.
Sony's PlayStation VR is not so easy to use. Not only do you need to connect clumsy VR glasses to the PS4, but when you want to enter the virtual world, various errors and issues can ruin your fun. In this case, you will find the right solution here.
If you are heading for toys with online features, please check out our PSN Failure Report first. There you will learn if the server is up and running. If this is the case, or if you are still playing games without online features, one of our solutions below for the most common errors may help you.
Game jerky and PS4 flashing red
Your game starts to jerk, and runs worse. You can also see the indicator light of the PSVR processor box flashing red.
If the flashing continues for a long time, take immediate action. In this case, your device will overheat. Sony recommends turning off the console, letting it cool for about 30 minutes, and then turning it back on. Also make sure the fans are running correctly. If this is not the case [recognizable by the still blinking red light], carefully blow any possible dust out of the processor's ventilation slots.
Processor gets hot
Although you often play for only a short period of time, the processor always gets hot.
That shouldn't happen. If so, it may be because the processor box of the PS4 or PSVR is not placed correctly. Therefore, you should not place the processor box on the PS4 console, nor should you expose both devices to direct sunlight. Do not place hardware on a carpet or soft surface. To avoid overheating in the future, make sure to place both devices in a well-ventilated place, not in a narrow closet or wall.
Image shift
The picture of your VR glasses has moved or is abnormally curved.
Make sure your PlayStation camera is positioned correctly [about 1.4 meters from the ground and about 2 meters from you]. Check that the area between the PSVR glasses [your location] and the camera has a clear field of view, then press the PS button on the controller to open the menu. Here you can adjust the position of PlayStation VR. If this does not resolve the issue, disconnect the PSVR from the open console temporarily and leave the glasses in a vibration-free position for 10 seconds before reconnecting.
Picture is blurry or fuzzy
Pictures are blurred or only motion on the screen is blurred during playback and in the menu.
In the settings, you can provide some help to create sharper pictures. So you can click on "Devices" in the main menu under "Settings" and select "PlayStation VR". Here you can get information about proper placement and make adjustments to improve the image. In addition, if you deviate from the standard value, you can set the distance between the two eyes separately under "Device". You can find a quick solution by short pressing the option button [2 seconds]. Screen repositioning. The last solution is to restart the PS4 console.
PlayStation 4 VR target controller does not work
The console does not recognize the target controller provided separately, the controller blinks uncontrollably, or you struggle with input latency.
Follow these steps: Turn off PS4 completely. This will turn off all nearby Bluetooth devices as they may cause interference. Then reopen the console. However, pressing the reset button on the bottom of the target controller can also solve it. It's near the L2 button and should be gently pressed for 5 seconds with a small object [such as an open paper clip]. Then use a micro USB cable to connect the controller to the PS4 and restart the console. Press the PS button to log in. If that still doesn't work, plug the cable into another USB port on the console and try again.
PSVR cannot be turned on
You cannot open PSVR. Nothing happens when you press the power button.
You may not be connecting the VR headset properly. Double check the steps in the device description again and make sure all cables are connected properly. Also note the PlayStation symbol on the cable and processor box. These must match for the device to work properly.
No sound or tone [external headphones]
No sound is output from the headphones connected to the PS4 controller.
Sony says you should first check that the headphones are connected properly. Then check if the headset works on other devices. In this case, turn off the PS4 completely, and then completely disconnect it from the power. Then remove the PSVR processor unit from the PS4 and wait for one minute. Then connect the console and PSVR to the power source properly, then turn on all power again.
PlayStation 4 VR target controller fails to charge
If you connect it separately to the console via USB, the separately sold target controller will not charge. The loading symbol is not displayed.
Sony recommends that you use only the included Micro USB cable for charging. Also make sure that the PS4 is not completely turned off. Charge the target controller only when it is connected to an open console or in standby mode. Usually, you only need to plug the target controller into another USB port to resolve the charging issue.
