MIUI Daemon collects data on Xiaomi phones to improve user interface. If you do not want this, you can deactivate the tool as follows.
The “MIUI Daemon” system app can still be found on many popular Xiaomi cell phones such as the Redmi Note 11S in 2022. Behind the mysterious application is a tool that the manufacturer apparently uses to collect some data to improve the user interface.
The MIUI Daemon collects this data
According to the analysis of a Xiaomi fan blog, the MIUI Daemon collects the following data about your phone.
- the size of the installed memory
- the time the screen is on
- Main memory load statistics
- Battery and CPU stats
- Bluetooth and WiFi status
- the IMEI number
The application is therefore not a spy app, because it does not collect any direct personal data from you, only information on the condition of the device. If you still feel uneasy, you can disable the MIUI Daemon. This can be done in just a few steps. The following video shows you how to do it.
Below you will also find step-by-step instructions with screenshots for the individual steps.
In another guide, we will tell you how you can also disable advertising in the MIUI user interface.
In addition, there are other settings that you should definitely adjust on Xiaomi cell phones.
