Goat Simulator 3: Stunned: Ads are blocked because they use leaked GTA 6 clips

No matter how you look at it, some business decisions aren’t smart. For example, use material from the GTA 6 leak in your own advertising. But that’s exactly what the developer of Goat Simulator 3 did and immediately felt the consequences.

The leak of some gameplay clips from an early version of GTA 6 in September was certainly one of the bigger news of this year. Rockstar Games was also not particularly happy about the unlawfully stolen and published videos and has since followed all publications that are even remotely related to it.

That’s exactly what the Coffee Stain studio should have known when it designed the new Goat Simulator 3 ad. In the clip, an NPC named Shaun talks about his life as a ragdoll character. Everything so far rather harmless, up to a certain point. The character states that he has already appeared in a leaked video. You guessed it, you can see a scene from the early version of GTA 6 right here.

While the social media ads would certainly have raised a few laughs, Rockstar and Take-Two weren’t particularly amused. The video received a DMCA strike, i.e. a copyright complaint, and was taken offline. The developers of Gota Simulator 3 take the whole situation rather casually.

Instead of apology texts or other statements, they reacted to the blocking with a meme. Actually with the “I’m in Danger” Ralph from the Simpsons. Insight looks different. On the other hand, one shouldn’t expect any serious statements from Coffee Stain.

Felix, Pirmin and Flönz play the new Goat Simulator 3 in co-op mode. They cause chaos and destruction with their crazy goats. And is that fun? But hello!
