Astronaut kicks off 2023 with brand new trailer witch fire, and an announcement to delight Nvidia RTX 40-series owners. The developers showed off a nice little snippet of gameplay from the game’s levels.

The trailer is short, but it’s a reminder of just how awesome Witchfire looks in motion, and how far it’s come since its initial reveal.

good trailer. Short trailer.

The new footage arrives to celebrate the news that Witchfire will support Nvidia’s DLSS 3 when it arrives this year. Sadly, we still don’t have a release date, but it should be in early access on the Epic Games Store in the near future.

DLSS 3, currently only available on RTX 40-series GPUs, allows them to generate frames and make games feel smoother. The feature is new and has relatively good support so far.

Creative director Adrian Chmielarz didn’t provide any hard framerate figures, but he praised DLSS 3 in today’s announcement, citing the fact that PC gamers should be very familiar with the situation.

“You start the game, you push all the graphics options to the max. You enjoy it for a while, but then, especially if it’s an action game, you realize that frame rate is king. So you start reducing the visual quality to achieve Smooth gameplay,” says Chmielarz.

“DLSS 3 enables seemingly impossible high frame rates without compromising on visuals. For a game as action-packed and beautiful as Witchfire, it’s a no-brainer.”

Witchfire was delayed in October. If you’d like to stay updated, add it to your wishlist at EGS today.
