As every year, CES is the opportunity to discover many technological innovations. Like this weird pillow.
The Consortium Electronics Show (CES), the opportunity to discover many new things in the wide world of technology. This is especially true of Fufuly, an anxiety-reducing device. In the form of a large cushion, it allows the user to reduce the breathing rate to subconsciously stimulate deeper inspirations. And so to relax.
The CES pillow that wishes you well
The Fufuly presented at CES is an anti-anxiety pillow, which therefore uses a gentle rhythmic pulsation system as the main therapeutic tool. The idea is that when you hug a fufuly, its realistic behavior stimulates your abdomen to induce slower, deeper breathing. For this project, Yukai Engineering collaborated with the University of Tokyo, which studied the “phenomenon of rhythmic synchronization between individuals or between individuals and objects” when they interact with each other. The manufacturer explains:
Using the pillow for just 5 minutes can reduce user’s stress level and make them more alert.
The Fufuly has three modes of operation: “normal” and “deep” mode, with the third mode based on common relaxation breathing techniques found in sophrology, for example. The cushion itself gives the user the impression of a hug due to its vibrations.
In short, we cannot stop progress. There is no announced price at the moment, but the product is slated for release later in 2023 through a crowdfunding campaign. There are also some beautiful objects to be discovered at CES.
During the night from January 4th to 5th it was also an opportunity for Sony to present many products.
