The bone new year’s resolutions It’s a good time to do some self-reflection and find out what we want to work on more of for the new year. Of course, they must be enforced – and there is a very good reason why one of ours is to improve our physical condition – since it is also a significant improvement in our quality of life.
And it does us good. Hasn’t it happened to you that at times when you stopped playing sports, you felt less physically well than after a good training? It seems that Apple wants all Fitness+ subscribers to start the year off with some very exciting news, and that we don’t just set goals: also that we meet them.
What’s new in Fitness+ for 2023
The first novelty is kickboxing incorporation as a new cardio activity to exercise the whole body. It consists of several series of movements until reaching a final series where the user will combine the movements he has just learned. No type of equipment will be needed and they will last approximately 10, 20 or 30 minutes.
There will be new instructors, like Nez Dally: a Muay Thai fighter who made history by becoming the first woman to compete professionally while wearing a hijab. New instructors such as Brian Cochrane will also join new HIIT sessions or Jenn Lau for strength exercises, in this new season.
Something highly requested by Fitness+ users was the sleep meditation. It will arrive in the next few days inside the Meditation bookstore (as well as the remaining nine activities). There will be a new exercise every week, and it can be done from bed listening to the audio only, or watching the full video before going to rest. For those new to meditation, Fitness+ will include a new introductory program with 20-minute meditations that can be done at any time and in any order.
The list of artists’ favorite exercises is also expanded, with music from Beyoncé and her latest album – which will appear in several Fitness+ exercises. Foo Fighters will also be included (next January 16) and Bad Bunny, (January 23).
The bone “Runtime” workouts are extended with more personalities, starting with actress Jammie Lee Curtís, who will be followed by Ámbar Ruffin (host of a famous American talk show), Jason Segel (actor in “How I Met Your Mother”, comedian and producer), Jose Andrés (Spanish chef and founder of World Central Kitchen), Nina Hos (german actress), Colman Domingo (actor and director), Nathan Chen (Olympic champion) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (actor and singer).
Ultimately, Fitness+ will add two new exercise collections (perfect for new year intentions): one for those who want to resume exercising with a 6-week plan (will be available on January 9) and another to enhance our basic workouts, in 10 and 20 minute batches. Without a doubt, the best time to start getting in shape is now!
Starting next Monday, January 9, Fitness+ will no longer require Apple Watch and you can use it directly from your iPhone. If you buy an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Apple TV, you can try Fitness+ for three months for free – and if you decide to subscribe, an additional month. And remember: you can still share the same account with up to five family members.
