Rumors of the arrival of a new Xbox event have been swirling around the web for some time. And if nothing official has been announced at the moment, the noose tightens and Microsoft itself would tease.
As we recently reported to you, rumors indicate that Microsoft is preparing a conference for the beginning of 2023. With big cartridges planned for this year like Starfield whose first returns are huge, Redfall or the next DLC for Forza Horizon 5 everyone is waiting, Microsoft has it in store. The green company could therefore take full advantage of this beginning of the year to reveal us its projects, in particular by telling us the release dates of its big games or by surprising us with new announcements. But at the moment we only have clues and nothing concrete yet.
Microsoft teases?
Yesterday it was Microsoft itself that revived the rumors by playing a little with its fans. While the InXile studio (Wasteland 3) has fun teasing the arrival of a video related to a sci-fi project we don’t know about (some even say a reference to it starfield), Microsoft replied with a curious little emoji. It didn’t take any less to set the powder alight and reignite hope for a new Xbox Direct for this start of the year, although we don’t really know what it’s about. InXile also enjoys commenting on its release, including a brief “Todd calling Phil: ‘Please stop them'” message, as if spoiling an announcement to that effect starfield.
A new Xbox series bundle raises doubts
Then it is the announcement of a whole new bundle Xbox series that sowed doubts. A new bundle was recently announced that includes an Xbox series as well as Forza Horizon 5 and all of its DLCs, including the expansion currently in development. The catch is that there’s no specific release date for the bundle just yet, but Microsoft is suggesting “this month” availability instead. So fans quickly made the connection, saying that this brand new bundle alongside the DLC could well be the subject of a proper presentation during an upcoming Xbox Direct ForzaHorizon 5.
The hype, but not too much
At the same time, Windows Central’s Jez Corden added his stone to the building. To a fan who wondered if Microsoft would really let the next few months go by without showing anything, Corden replied that we wouldn’t have to wait long for news. He reassures nonetheless, assuring that one shouldn’t expect a show as important as E3, but rather a slightly smaller Xbox Direct.
Don’t wait too long, but maybe window is a strong word. Directly maybe? Not sure how big yet, but don’t expect a big show at E3
Xbox Direct Coming Soon?
At the moment we therefore have no official announcement to put our mouths to, but the clues are multiplying and the noose is gradually tightening. For our part, if we don’t yet know what could happen, we think that Microsoft would be very interested in presenting its next titles earlier this year.
Rumors about the release date of starfield swell and are already talking about a release in the first half of the year, redfall is also the subject of rumors that suggest a May release and many other games are expected such as Hellblade 2, Forza Motorsport or even Stalker 2, which we have recently been able to test.
