When The Information published a generous list of specs for Apple’s mixed reality headset a few days ago, I may have been wrong in saying that the device was close. Now, Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed to us that we might not see the visor or anything related to it. until WWDC, and that’s if we’re lucky
Kuo commented on the details of this delay in one piece of tubs. Apparently the main reason is problems in the drop tests of the headset: Apple wants to make it more resistant to the possibility of it falling from our heads or from a high place.
2022 and 2023 could be the late years for Apple
Another compelling reason would be the availability of the tools necessary for software development, which would be rare. The secrecy shrouded in the viewer may force many precautionary measures, which may undergo the final stages of its development.
The date dance is pretty chaotic: some say we’ll see the Spectator this month and some say we won’t see it until after the iPhone 15 launches.
For our part, we can do nothing but wait: we already have many delays with Macs awaiting launch and the viewer may have been placed behind this queue. Maybe we could think of an intermediate point and you want to give WWDC a coup in June?
