Starfield and Mass Effect 4 better watch out, the PS5 may soon have the right to its own exclusive sci-fi RPG. It’s huge from here.
We have to admit that we didn’t see it coming. A brand new PlayStation IP would have left a first image on the web and the project looks really huge even though this is a very young version of the project. One of the Sony studios would already develop a completely new game compared to Starfield and Mass Effect 4. Take out your tweezers.
A new PS5 exclusive game to get Starfield?
It’s the IconEra website reporting the news and claiming to have gotten their hands on a brand new, as yet unannounced game due to arrive on PS5. A sci-fi role-playing game currently in development by Xdev, a Sony studio usually used as a support. In addition, another studio would be involved in the project.
At the moment the information, which can of course be extracted with tweezers, is very sparse. The game is said to be developed under Unreal Engine 5 and will definitely be one of the PlayStation service exclusive games.
The first images of the game leaked on the web show us a version of the game at the very beginning of its development. Despite everything, several people think that it is already a competitor of starfield etc mass effect 4. But it’s really too early to tell.
For now, all we can see is that this new PS5 game actually seems to be set in a futuristic and post-apocalyptic universe and would opt for a third-person camera. We can actually see a soldier armed with an assault rifle advancing on a partially destroyed road. On the horizon we can also see a huge building parasitized by an even larger creature that moves screaming. Although the version shared here is still in its infancy and the clip is not only of poor quality but also extremely short, it still looks quite promising. Any news later in 2023?
Would Sony prepare a new large cartridge? Quite possible. We know the company is developing a slew of unannounced games slated for release on PS5 in the coming years, including several service games. IconEra also announces that more information about this mysterious new IP will be released later in the year. So 2023 could hold new surprises for us.
Sony has already had a particularly busy year. In addition to PSVR 2, which will be released in February, the company will also release a number of big games such as Forspoken, which will be released this month in January, Horizon Call of The Mountain or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We also expect a lot of new surprises, maybe we will even hear about this new IP. Wait as they say.
