Will a Doctor Strange series come to Disney+? New reports point to a Strange Academy series starring Marvel darling Wong and America Chavez.
- A new Marvel series could be an offshoot of “Doctor Strange”.
- The focus of the MCU series should be Wong and America Chavez.
- The Marvel comic “Strange Academy” should serve as a template.
Benedict Wong has become a fan favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Wong from the Doctor Strange movies. He made four appearances in Phase 4 alone (in “Shang-Chi”, “Spider-Man 3”, “Doctor Strange 2” and “She-Hulk”). The Wong’s triumphal march continues!
Like US magazine The Direct reported, there are rumors of a new Disney+ series coming out of the MCU. In this, the comic story “Strange Academy” is to be filmed. The comic revolves around Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff and the training of young users of mystical arts.
The series, on the other hand, is not supposed to be about Doctor Strange, but about Wong. However, Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) could make guest appearances. Wong is supposed to train young magicians, similar to how it was at the end of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” when America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) was trained in Kamar Taj.
Where Chavez already came up: In addition to Benedict Wong as Wong, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez is also set to play a leading role in the “Strange Academy” series on Disney +. As she becomes part of the Young Avengers in the course of the Multiverse saga, which concludes with Secret Wars, she still plays an important role.
There is no further information or a start date yet. So far, these have only been rumors based on reports from internal sources. Surely we will find out more soon. We list you all Marvel new releases!
