The character, confirmed in the Harry Potter world to be Sirius Black’s great-great-grandfather, exists in the books and films as a portrait inside Albus Dumbledore’s office, but since Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the 1890s, Phineas Black will be well and truly alive and to play an active role in the daily life of the school.

Hogwarts Legacy has been confirmed to launch on Switch on July 25, 2023a full five months after its planned release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, 2023.
