Japanese sales tracker Famitsu has published their 2022 annual boxed video game software and hardware sales report in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Nintendo Switch family of systems was by far the best-selling gaming hardware of choice for Japanese consumers, selling a total of nearly 5 million units during 2022. The top ten best-selling video game list is filled Nintendo Switch software, with nine of the top ten games being Nintendo Switch games, with the acclaimed Elden Ring being the exception at number 10.
