Amid Microsoft’s case with the US Federal Trade Commission, a new opposing voice is emerging. Google and Nvidia have expressed concern about the state of the market and competition if Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard goes through.

Nvidia and Google argue that by acquiring Activision Blizzard, Microsoft could gain a huge competitive advantage in the mobile, cloud and subscription gaming marketaccording to a report by Bloomberg.

Both companies’ arguments are much stronger and broader than Sony’s arguments. Sony is primarily focused on PC and Xbox Game Pass and the future of the franchise Call of Duty. In this sense, Bloomberg pointed out that Nvidia is not strictly opposed to the acquisition.

Earlier this month, FTC attorney James Weingartenrevealed that the agency had yet to have “substantial” settlement discussions with Microsoft regarding the company’s bid to acquire Activision Blizzard.

The UK regulator also revealed it would extend its investigation into the acquisition for another eight weeks. Of course, it’s not a path of roses for those in Redmond. From Xbox Area we will closely follow the acquisition and everything related to Xbox.
