Not long ago we told you that there are already Windows Insiders who are testing a version that contains substantial changes in the file explorer of version 11 of the operating system. We were able to learn that there will be an option that will allow the browser to recommend content to you, what it will recommend is already a mystery.
In addition to all this, new images have recently leaked that let us see a visual and functional version quite different from what we know today from File Explorer. Everything indicates that in addition to the obvious visual change, there is a background layer that seems focused on collaborative use.
This is what the new Windows 11 File Explorer looks like
And it is that the future of Microsoft goes through the cloud and the collaboration between users; not very surprising. These new options or categories have been spotted in the File Explorer home: Ideas, Activities, Properties, Related Files, Conversations, Sharing Status. As you can see it looks like integration with OneDrive will play an important role here
But surely you came here expecting to see the leaked footage from dev channel 25276. You can appreciate the redesigned menus, new features like “Insights”, “Activities” and “Conversations”, among others.
How and when we will receive these changes remains to be seen. At the moment, this is all the development version, so it is in testing and may never see the light of day.
