Although there are many alternatives to save your photos in the cloud, the Google application remains one of the most popular despite the fact that it no longer offers unlimited free storage for reasons such as its ease of use. use, its smart search or simply because it is the service provided by default on your Android phone. Well, Google has given a new twist to its terminology to make it even easier to use Google Photos.
Words change, actions don’t
As Google itself explains in a blog post, it has made some small changes to the backup section of Google Photos for a better user experience. It’s not that the way you store videos and photos changes, but rather that the terminology has been simplified.
Where will you find these changes? Open Google Photos and in the top right menu you will find the option to photo adjustments. There, instead of the “Backup and sync” option that appeared before, now has been shortened and simplified to “Copy”.
By entering this option, you will discover the other change. Scrolling down, another option appeared that referred to upload size, which is now called “Backup quality“. Once inside, you can choose between keeping the original quality or saving space by compressing your files.
According to Google, these changes will avoid any potential confusion. Regarding these changes, the to sychronize this indicated the app’s ability to display your photo library on other devices by uploading them to the cloud. As for “Backup Quality”, it is a more technically correct term, since once inside it refers to the quality and not to the size of the files (although this is a consequence).
