You asked for it! After we already celebrated the ten highest ratings in GameStar history in the podcast, you wished in comments and letters that we also complain about the highest ratings. So welcome to the abyss of technical problems, bugs and Pay2Win.
Because we also devalue games in the GameStar test for these two reasons. GameStar has had bug devaluations since the early 2000s, and since 2018 we have been penalizing overly blatant Pay2Win mechanisms with deductions of up to 15 points.
In the podcast, Micha and Florian present the 13 games that we gave the highest devaluations – from basketball to Batman: Arkham Knight.

Disclaimer: Because there were too many games with a deduction of ten rating points, Micha selected the four cases that annoyed us the most for our ranking. We just say Warcraft 3 Reforged. Or Diablo Immortal.
In fact, two publishers feature disproportionately on this list: Activision-Blizzard and Take Two Interactive. Take Two produces a series that occupies three places on the list: NBA 2K. Because the basketball games manage the trick of being monetized even more aggressively than FIFA Ultimate Team.
In terms of technical shortcomings, we encounter The Callisto Protocol, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Batman: Arkham Knight, among others. The latter would actually be the best game on our list – purely in terms of content, but on the PC Warner sent the bat man to the ground with a nasty porting uppercut.
Meanwhile, a completely unexpected game takes the top spot – because it’s so bad that almost none of you might have played it. Or at least we hope so for your health.

And also listen to our second podcast “What are you playing?”, in which members of the editorial staff and sometimes guests briefly and concisely present their current favorite games. Well, or less briefly and concisely, when Micha has to defend himself against Géraldine’s infamous vampire accusations.
