There have been several stories over the years about a possible revival of The Simpsons Hit & Run – a Gr and Theft Auto-like title set in the fictional town of Springfield. While it doesn’t seem like we’re any closer to a return, earlier this week fans of the 2003 game noticed that the game’s soundtrack has now been uploaded to services like Spotify and Apple Music:
Unsurprisingly, those same fans are wondering if the game will return in the near or distant future. Back in 2021, Matt Selman – who has worked on the animated series since 1997 – mentioned that he too would “love” to see Hit & Run revived, but said it would be “complicated” to bring it back (via IGN):
“I would love to see a remastered version [Simpsons Hit & Run]I would, [but] it’s a complicated corporate octopus to try to make it happen.”
In 2019, the game’s producer, Vlad Ceraldi, also mentioned that a possible remake of Hit & Run could be “beautiful”:
