Sky TV customers can now get an ongoing Entertainment and Sport pass for Discovery+ at no extra cost. It usually costs £6.99 per month, so you can save over £80 per year with this completely free add-on.
Users already had access to a free 12-month Discovery+ Entertainment Pass. However, this Entertainment and Sports pass has no time limit, and the addition of sports programming allows viewers to tune in to huge events for free. This includes the Australian Open 2023, which kicks off today.
Discovery+ also allows customers to watch tennis from Roland-Garros, the Tour de France and every moment of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – with the BBC sometimes only showing highlights of certain events.
On the entertainment side, Discovery+ also includes series such as Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial, 90 Day Fiancé, Beauty and the Geek and Richard Hammond’s Workshop. Customers can find the Discovery+ app on the homepage or by using the voice remote with the phrase “Get Discovery Plus”.
The offer is available to Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers with a Sky TV package and is in addition to the free Paramount+ subscription (which includes Top Gun: Maverick) and Netflix Basic (which houses the Knives sequel Out, Glass Onion). Sky customers already signed up for the free entertainment pass will automatically be upgraded.
If you are on the flexible Now streaming service, this offer does not apply. It is also not available to TV Essentials Pack customers.
“We know value is hugely important at this time, so we’re delighted to bring Discovery+ to our Sky TV customers at no extra cost, saving £6.99 a month. Delivering even more amazing entertainment and sports to enjoy this year at a lower cost,” said Elizabeth Wynn, chief executive of Sky TV.
If you’re not already, you can sign up for a Sky package with Discovery+’s Entertainment & Sport pass from £24.99 a month – Sky Stream is Sky’s first product that allows customers to register on a monthly rolling contract.
Sky is also home to the next big video game adaptation, The Last of Us.
