What is the release date of Final Fantasy XVI (FFXVI)?
During the trailer presented at The Game Awards 2022 they revealed that the official release date of this game will be on Thursday June 22, 2022.

Final Fantasy XVI (FFXVI) was announced as an exclusive title for PlayStation 5. In the promo video ‘Play like never before’ a text announces that this exclusivity will only last six months. After that, it could come to other platforms like PC or Xbox Series X | S, but it is not certain.
This exclusive deal between PlayStation and Square Enix has turned out to be somewhat controversial. In response to the FTC’s lawsuit seeking to prevent Microsoft from buying Activision Blizzard, Xbox owners blamed Sony for titles like FFXVI and Silent Hill 2 “never coming to their consoles”.

What is the story or plot of Final Fantasy XVI?
The story of FFXVI takes place in a land called Valisthea that is immersed in a bloody war. This place is the source of the ‘progenitor crystals’, which have blessed the kingdoms with ether for generations, making them very prosperous.
But ambition and greed make humans always want more. Nations such as the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, the Kingdom of Waloed, the Dhalmekian Republic, and the Iron Kingdom—each with their own culture and ideology—have waged multiple wars for control of the crystals. Currently there is a tense peace in Valisthea, but the rise of a terrible plague threatens to end it.
At the heart of this conflict are the Dominants, people capable of harnessing the enormous destructive power of the magical beings known as Eikon.

- Clive Rosfield: main protagonist of the game. Firstborn of the Archduke of Rosaria and protector of his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. Joshua granted him the Blessing of the Phoenix, giving Clive the ability to wield a part of Eikon’s fire. However, as the story unfolds, he finds himself involved in a great tragedy.
- Joshua Rosfield: Clive’s younger brother and Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. Joshua has the ability to transform into the Phoenix and fight to protect the nation from him. Although he was born into royalty, Joshua treats everyone with kindness, but he also has his childish side and aversion to carrots.
- Jill Warrick: The defender of the Grand Duchy of Rosaria grew up with Clive and Joshua, so she is a kind of sister to them.
- Hugo Kupka: He used to be an anonymous soldier in the Republican Army until his awakening as a Dominant of the eikon Titan catapulted him to the top of the Dhalmekian political scene. He is now the most powerful man in the republic.
- Benedikta Harman: Dominant of the eikon Garuda and guardian of the wind is the commander of Waloed’s elite spies.
