A series “too faithful” to the game?
From the start, The Last of Us series (produced by HBO) has been presented as a very faithful adaptation of the base material, namely the PS3 video game of the same name, released in 2013! After all, how could it be otherwise with Mr. Neil Druckmann at the helm? So yeah, for that first episode, if you know the game well, you know what’s going to happen… what tragic event occurs, how Joël, Ellie, and Tess embark on an adventure that’s beyond their limits, etc.
But is it that serious? Well no, because The show goes beyond the video game and teaches us things about the daily life of Joël and his daughter Sarah before the development of Cordyceps, behind the scenes of the Lucioles, the famous resistance group (among others).
