The year gets off to a flying start with the arrival of The Last of Us series. Yes, after months of waiting, Neil Druckmann (Co-President of Naughty Dog | director

of the PS3 game) and Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) is finally available in France on Amazon Prime. The show has opted for a weekly release! Each of the nine episodes will therefore be released during the night from Sunday to Monday and today, It’s time to talk about the first chaptercalled When you’re lost in the dark. A total of 1h20 images that sweep away a tragic event that players know well, but also the daily life of “post-apo” micro-societies, while Joël – the hero – and his girlfriend Tess do their best to get out of it… What brings it in the end? It’s time to speak our mind.

A series “too faithful” to the game?

From the start, The Last of Us series (produced by HBO) has been presented as a very faithful adaptation of the base material, namely the PS3 video game of the same name, released in 2013! After all, how could it be otherwise with Mr. Neil Druckmann at the helm? So yeah, for that first episode, if you know the game well, you know what’s going to happen… what tragic event occurs, how Joël, Ellie, and Tess embark on an adventure that’s beyond their limits, etc.

But is it that serious? Well no, because The show goes beyond the video game and teaches us things about the daily life of Joël and his daughter Sarah before the development of Cordyceps, behind the scenes of the Lucioles, the famous resistance group (among others).
