Even though Stadia is dead today, that doesn’t mean your dream of cloud gaming is also dead. Other services continue to offer us access to the latest versions without having to install anything, such as GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud.
[Razer presenta la primera consola Android con 5G, un monstruo gaming con Xbox]
In fact, we could say that the cloud gaming sector is healthier than ever, with the presentation and launch of several Android consoles dedicated mainly to this technology, such as the Logitech G Cloud or the Razer Edge 5G.
Cheaper Android cloud console
The big downside to both of these alternatives is their price, as they focus on delivering powerful and capable hardware. Therefore, it is surprising that the creators of Abxylute promise a price that can be lower by 100 to 200 dollars; and the best part is that it doesn’t seem like there are a lot of sacrifices.
The Abxylute is an Android-based console, capable of using the Play Store to install apps and games; but its greatest strength is its compatibility with cloud services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, as well as Steam Link to connect our computer wirelessly and play the titles we have installed.
So where is the catch? Everything points to the Abxylute’s hardware being good, but not the best, with a 7-inch LCD with LTPS sticking to 1080p resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. So we’re not expecting not much image quality, but it should be enough if it is well calibrated and has good brightness, which seems to be confirmed in the published videos.
The console’s creators have yet to reveal many details, such as the chosen processor, and although they promise “stable 60 frames per second”, the key is in which games this figure is achieved; they also claim that it will be possible to emulate other systems. At least we know a little more about the battery, which is 5,000 mAh and promises eight hours of battery life.
Abxylute could have gone unnoticed if it weren’t for one reason: it received support from Tencent, the Chinese video game giant, for the development of the interface, its own applications, and for support.
Abxylute will be available for the equivalent of $200 when the crowdfunding campaign opens, a price that will increase to $250 when it hits shelves.
