How to start Taxi Work in GTA Online
To start Taxi Work in GTA Online you need to visit the downtown taxi company. Shortly after entering the session, you should receive a recruitment text from them.
Their building is right in front of the Diamond Casino. If you can’t find it or don’t receive the text message, you may need to check that your version of GTA Online is up to date.
If you’re having trouble finding it, here’s what the taxi company looks like on the map:
When you’re in the Cab Company building, head through the double doors with the white circle outside. Then click on the guest control to start the taxi job.
You cannot start taxi job if you are in passive mode and yes, that means other players can attack you while you are working. However, the money you earned while working will not disappear if you are killed this way. It will still be in your pocket when you respawn, but then we strongly advise you to bank this before continuing.
GTA Online Taxi Work Explained
Taxi Work in GTA Online is very similar to how it works in GTA V. However, you need to go to the Downtown Cab Company company to start working.
Find your customer
Once you’re in your taxi, Dispatch will send you the location of your next pickup. This is indicated on your minimap and main map as a small blue person.
We strongly recommend that you open your main map and place a waypoint on their location, this makes it easier to locate them quickly.
Get your client into the taxi
Once you find your customer, stop near him (don’t knock him over) and press the command he is asked to wave him into the taxi. Wait for them to enter and once inside they will tell you where they want to go.
Drive your customer where they want to go
Once you know where they want to go, the route will be highlighted in yellow on your minimap. Follow this route to get them to their destination and no, taking very long detours will not increase the fare.
Drop your client and start again
When you arrive at the customer’s target destination, enter the yellow circle and stop the taxi to let it out. They will pay you and then you can wait for Dispatch to send another job.
Quit taxi job
If you’re tired of leading people, then press and hold your “leave vehicle” command to exit. This will then cause you to respawn outside the taxi and your winnings will be put in your pocket.
How to get the best salary for Taxi Work in GTA Online
The best way to get the most out of Taxi Work is to get your client to their location quickly and safely. Every time you crash, alarm the customer or take too long to get somewhere, money will be deducted from your tips.
You can check your current rate and tip count in the lower right corner of your screen. If you cause too many accidents or incidents with your customer in the Taxi, your tips will eventually end up at $0. This means that you will only be paid the price of the trip.
Keep going for as long as you can. The more consecutive clients you deal with, the faster your salary will increase. If you leave the Taxi job and then come back, the salary increase will be reset.
