The bad news first: Season 2 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is actually delayed. The developers confirmed the rumors that had been circulating recently. The reason given is that changes were made based on fan feedback. So when is Season 2 coming out and what’s in it?
Everything we know about Season 2
When does it start? The Season 2 update will be released on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Due to the time difference, this could be February 16 for us. According to the Battle Pass, it should have started in early February.
What’s new? In the tweet, Infinity Ward already reveals a few of the innovations of Season 2.

- Ranked Play will be introduced in season 2 in multiplayer. According to unconfirmed leaks There shall be seven ranks (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson and Iridescent).
- The multiplayer should also new maps and modes get donated. Exactly what those are hasn’t been revealed yet – maybe the promised Gunfight will finally return?
- Of course there is again new weapons, as usual in every CoD season. Dataminers have already figured out that the Vepr-12 crossbow and shotgun come into play. If you want to level up your guns quickly, here is the right guide:

New to Warzone 2 in Season 2
Warzone 2 is getting one completely new, small map (similar to Rebirth Island) and the Resurgence game mode returns. In the Battle Royale, you don’t end up in the Gulag if you’re shot down, but spawn back into the match – as long as your teammates last long enough.
Developer Raven Software has also revealed an important innovation in advance: In the Gulag you fight again in 1v1 matches from Season 2 onwards instead of teams of two. The announcement makes sure much enthusiasm among fans, many had wanted the old system from Warzone Caldera back.
Neuer Battle Pass: The Season 2 pass will again contain new cosmetics, XP boosts and blueprints for MW2 and Warzone 2. He should appear in time for the start of the season, so you still have some time to level up the complex pass of Season 1 Reloaded.

So it sounds like a decent content package that the developers are putting together. This is also urgently needed, because fans have been demanding more content since the release, especially exciting multiplayer maps and a real ranked mode.
