Just last week we reported that Ubisoft was about to close in 2022 due to a miserable year scrapped three games in development has. Now we know that one of the games is Project Q, whose developers may now be involved in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
What kind of game was Project Q anyway?
Project Q was officially announced in April 2022, but official gameplay was never released. Only a few leaks from the various play tests describe Project Q as a mixture of multiplayer shooter and melee brawler in the style of Nintendo’s Super Smash Brothers.

Two teams of four players should fight each other to control a zone on the map and thus collect points. A kind of Battle Royale mode was also present in the play tests. Visually, Project Q should use a comic look, similar to the melee brawler Rumbleverse from Epic Games.
Touching news for the fans
how InsiderGaming reported, the end was officially confirmed on the closed Discord server. The developers said goodbye with a heartbreaking message to the fans:
We hope you are all well and safe. First of all we want to tell you how great this group has been since we started. We’ve had so many great moments and we appreciate the relationships we’ve built with all of you. We experienced so many great moments together that we will always remember.
The first closed test was a big milestone for us because the team put in so much work, you supported us so well and you welcomed us so well! We loved the incredible energy in this discord, it was our fuel for the project. Your feedback has been a true gift and has allowed us to grow as developers to do our best for you, our players.
All these warm moments make this announcement all the more difficult: unfortunately we have to cancel our upcoming closed tests as Project Q is no longer being developed. This also means we need to shut down this discord server.
We don’t have any further information right now, but we want to thank you all for your passion and love for Project Q. All of your messages and support meant the world to us and gave our teams a huge boost from the start.
We will be closing this discord server in the next few days. But until then, please share your memories and best moments with us and we will be happy to pass the messages on to the team. It was a great time for us and we will keep it in good memory.
We wish you all the best for the future.
