Heartwarming, feel-good action stories have become strangely rare. You already know: science fiction spectacle with lots of noise, a likeable cast, with friendship, romance, big moments.
Well, while Titanfall 2 isn’t romance, it has plenty of everything else in it. As early as 2016, the shooter campaign seemed like a story oasis in a desert of rather clumsy or non-existent single-player shooters.
And even in 2023 the thing is still more than fresh – especially for a mere 3 dollars!
Why is Titanfall 2 so good?
With a current discount of a whopping 90 percent, you still get one of the coolest shooter campaigns of the last 10 years on Steam with Titanfall 2. And there are several reasons for this:
- The history: Titanfall 2 may not win an innovation award, but it tells a very entertaining story about a downed soldier who must follow in the footsteps of giants to survive on a contested planet.
- BT-7274: The biggest story highlight is your friendship with your Mech BT-7274, which, like Star Wars droids, has its own personality and grows from companion to your best friend over the course of the adventure. Great story moments.
- Das Leveldesign: Where other shooters torment you through one gray level tube after the other, Titanfall 2 offers really varied locations, intricate alien jungles, huge mech battle stations and, and, and. Each level feels different.
- Das Movement: Titanfall 2 has one of the coolest movement systems of any shooter in both single and multiplayer. You can walk completely freely on walls and, with a little skill, get to absurd corners of the levels. Exploring the locations and surprising the enemies is twice as much fun.
- The mechs: BT is not only a good buddy, but also a heavily armed combat robot whose appearance and abilities we change ourselves. Hardly any game lets you experience such spectacular combat on foot on the one hand, but also offers such martial mech wrangling on the other.
- The freedom: Titanfall 2 is not an open-world shooter at all, but at least it gives you freedom of action on a regular basis and thus provides variety. Whether you blast away enemies in the lumbering mech or outsmart them on foot with acrobatic maneuvers – the choice is yours.

Incidentally, Titanfall 2 is also a lot of fun in multiplayer, because the movement and mechs offer a multiplayer experience that is still unique today. And with over 13,000 concurrent active players, the servers are still pretty much alive.
How long is the offer valid?
Titanfall 2 is up 90 percent through February 2, 2023 reduced on Steam. After that, the price jumps back from 3 dollars to 30 dollars.
